Backer Policy

Cancellation and Refund Rules for Rally Backings

This Cancellation & Refund Policy explains when a Backer may cancel a Rally commitment, when a refund is available, and when a backing becomes locked for fulfilment.

By backing a Rally on Buyant, you agree that cancellations are only available before MOQ is reached and before funds are released toward fulfilment, except where buyer protection or applicable law provides otherwise.

Core Rule

You can cancel before MOQ. After MOQ, cancellation is closed because Buyant may have committed funds to the Manufacturer, inspection, logistics, or fulfilment process.

1. Cancellation Before MOQ

You may cancel a Rally backing while that Rally round is still open and has not reached its Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ).

1.1 Unpaid Backings. If your payment has not been confirmed, Buyant will release your committed units from the Rally. No refund is required because no confirmed funds were received.

1.2 Paid Backings. If your payment has already been confirmed, Buyant will remove your units from the Rally and process a full refund to the original payment channel.

1.3 Effect on Rally Progress. Cancelled units are removed from Rally progress, including MOQ counts, price tier counts, and applicable Pioneer or Early Backer slot counts.

2. Cancellation After MOQ

Important

Once a Rally reaches MOQ, cancellation is closed because Buyant may begin supplier, inspection, shipping, and fulfilment commitments.

2.1 MOQ Reached. After MOQ is reached, your backing becomes locked for fulfilment and cannot be cancelled through the normal cancellation flow.

2.2 Manufacturer Payment. Where funds have been released to the Manufacturer or committed toward fulfilment, Buyant cannot treat the backing as a normal cancellation.

2.3 Buyer Protection. Issues after this point are handled under buyer protection, inspection, warranty, defect, fulfilment, or support rules rather than voluntary cancellation.

3. Reserve Backings

Reserve backings follow the same pre-MOQ cancellation rule, with additional terms because Buyant may deploy working capital for Reserve orders.

3.1 Before MOQ. Before MOQ, a Reserve deposit may be cancelled and refunded if payment has been confirmed.

3.2 After MOQ. After MOQ, the Reserve deposit becomes non-refundable because Buyant may commit capital and supplier obligations to secure the order.

3.3 Outstanding Balance. Any remaining Reserve balance is handled according to the Reserve terms shown before payment and in the Terms of Service.

4. Failed or Cancelled Rallies

4.1 Rally Failure. If a Rally fails to reach MOQ within its time window, eligible paid Backers receive a full refund. Refunds are processed without platform deductions.

4.2 Buyant Cancellation. If Buyant cancels a Rally before fulfilment, eligible paid Backers receive a full refund unless a separate buyer protection process applies.

4.3 Refund Timeline. Refunds are typically processed within seventy-two (72) hours, subject to bank or payment-provider timelines.

5. Refund Method and Timing

5.1 Original Payment Channel. Refunds are returned through the original payment channel whenever possible. Buyant may request additional verification if the original channel cannot receive the refund.

5.2 Bank Processing. Once Buyant initiates a refund, final settlement may depend on the processing timelines of banks, card networks, or payment providers.

5.3 Notifications. Buyant may notify you by in-app notification, email, SMS, or WhatsApp when a cancellation is confirmed or a refund begins processing.

6. Contact and Disputes

If you believe a cancellation or refund has been handled incorrectly, contact Buyant support with your Rally name, backing reference, and payment reference.
